Fried Oyster Po'boy
Ordered oyster po'boy with collard greens. Oysters were cooked to perfection on a delicious fresh bun. Colllard greens were better than those I ate as a child at my aunt's farm in Virginia. Our server, Tammy, was friendly, professional and a delight to speak with. Pat, the manager, stopped by the table and spoke with us after the meal. A true highlight is the off season daily deals. Caesar Salad
I visited J.Rs yesterday with friends for dinner. It was crab cake special day and my very first visit. My friends recommended it. I cannot begin to describe the utter deliciousness in our plates. We had cream of crab soup and hush puppies, Crab cake risotto and Crab cake Caesar salad. The crab cake was so incredibly sweet, no filler and so flavorful. It was so nice to actually taste the sweetness of the crab without covering that up with so many other flavors. I would run, not walk there!!! I promise you will not be disappointed.
JRs Burger
One of the best burgers I've ever had! Always get the temperature just right and the bun compliments well with the paddy.
Stuffed Grouper
This dish was outstanding! The grouper was perfectly cooked and the Crab Imperial that is was stuffed with had big lumps of crab meat! Definitely order the collard greens as your side. Best dish ever!
Jambalaya
The jambalaya is amazing. I go to JR. at least once a week and always order this. I lived in New Orleans for 5 years and this version is as good as anything I've eaten in NOLA. A must try!!
Fried Oyster Sliders
I'm not sure why we were to late to the party here, since we are local, but we just ate at JR's for the first time last week. We stopped by for happy hour on Friday and were so impressed that we came back on Monday for dinner. We had the fried oyster sliders, the seafood pasta, calamari, seafood mac and cheese, the salmon dinner, hush puppies, JR burger, and the crab deviled eggs. Plues the cappuccino cheesesteak and the brownie cookie. Keep in mind there were 4 of us and two were our 24-year-old twin boys who think every dining experience is a competitive eating contest! In any event, we eat out a lot and were really blown away at the quality of the food, and the excellent service(thank you Tammy!). We will definitely be back.
Memphis Egg Rolls
A nice twist on the traditional egg roll - very flavorful. A generous appetizer that satisfied all 4 of us before our dinner.
Classic New Orleans Shrimp & Grits
This dish is better than what I had in New Orleans! With the smoked andouille sausage over the pimento cheese grits, you'll be transported to Bourbon Street! And the staff is so wonderful. We were able to sit near the kitchen and watch the chef prepare the food. What a treat! We'll definitely be back!
Stuffed Lobster Tail
entree and sides excellent crab and fried green tomatoes excellent
Stuffed Grouper
Generous portion of Imperial topping that was delicious with a nicely prepared piece of Grouper.Highly Recommend Jr's Seafood Shack!!
